zoho writer

Zoho Writer

Zoho Writer It is an online word processor It is allowing work collaboratively with other users, sharing and editing documents Group.
Zoho Writer It is a good word processor but does not offer all the featuresbut some advanced processors with more tour.
In its favor we can say it has a very intuitive interface, It features a variety of sources that can bebut than enough in most cases, being online office suitebut complete that exists right now.
It is alsowysiwyg (What you see is what you get), allows export to a large number of formats such aspdfhtmlword, etc. and very interesting is the possibility offered to perform version control.
Zoho Writer can work offline as it can store the working documents on the local hard disk plus organize them into folders, but only in the case of export documents. You can also import them from other sites.
Allows collaborative editing and direct web publishing and / or personal blogs. It also allowsdownload and view documents created directly from any office suite typeOpenOfficeLibreOffice, GoogleDocs, etc.
ButZoho Writer It has a number of drawbacks as, features to which we are accustomed are not available. For example organize documents in folders in the cloud and will not allow forces to establish the type of document from its name. Or for example no spell checker while writing. We are used to it andZoho I takes spell checker but do not support 'on the fly'.
Also lets you work with master documents and spreadsheets can insert in the document.
When you are accessingWriter It shows the interface application work with a welcome and instructions for use.

4.1 Work withZoho Writer

The first thing we do is create a new file (Archive > New) and keep trying different options provided, similarly to as we would any other word processor.

The following figure illustrates simple and common operations we can do withZoho Writer:
The top bar has a series of drop-down tabs with all the functions grouped together: Format, Insert, Revision, Cooperate, Views, Configuration of pages and Emails. When we click on one of them, the buttons available below it change.
From the optionsRevision we can apply the spell checker to the entire document. We can also select the dictionary that we will apply, search with substitution, etc.
If we want to enable the corrector in Spanish from Spain we must go toConfiguration (top menu bar) and in the window ofSettings select language.
But maybe the tabbut novel is that ofCooperate. Selecting this tab changes the button bar and looks like the following:

From there we have options such asShare:

This option allows us to share our documents with other individual users or with groups of users, assigning certain access permissions to the shared resource.:

The user will receive an email, that we can customize from
Edit Invitation email, announcing that you have this share available.

The text of the email sent is as follows:
We introduce modifications if we want and clickOK.
By pressing onShare shows us the entry corresponding to the shared resource with the option to delete it and the URL from which the resource is available.
From the given account we open the message sent byZoho:

If we click on the given link we get to the shared file.
The user who has shared the resource also receives an email warning that he has shared a file.
To save the created document we are going toArchive > Save as and we assign it a name:

But where have you kept it?

The file is actually stored in the cloud, that is, on the servers thatZoho makes available the services it offers. But we can also save them on our devices or on our hard drive.
For this, what we must do is select an export format (Archive > Export as) and it gives us the option to save it wherever we say, including the possibility of creating folders.
The available export formats are:

We can recover the file created in subsequent sessions by accessingArchive > Opened. Opens a side window in which it shows our files to which we can apply different classification criteria.
This window also shows the folder with the files that other users have shared with us., the trash can, etc. The window has a side tab that allows you to 'hide it’ or ‘bring her’.
The eyelashViews shows us different options to view our document. For example, our default Tests file looks like Normal View. We can see it as Page, see your HTML code in a pop-up window or see how it would look if we were to print it.
We will now look at the bottom bar of the tool.
The first button on the left allows you to edit the user's profile. User status can be changed. Go from available to busy or invisible, similar to chatgmail.
The bell button refers to the notifications received. In general, a notification is generated when a change has been made to a shared file. In the figure we see that a '1 appears on the hood’ in red indicating that there is an unread notification, that we show in the following figure:

Clicking on the link shows the name of the file on which the modification has been made and which user has made it.
The next button, of the sandwiches, refers to the chat. In principle the chat is not active. To activate it we go to the upper menu ofZoho, inApplicationsZoho we check that it isChat. We enter and show a welcome message:
To add a photo, click on the photo area and it allows us to select a photo:

Let's go nowAdd Contact to add a friend to talk with. We add the identifier of your email and save it.Zoho notifies that it has been added successfully.
The invited user receives an email in these terms:
To enter the chat of the user who has invited you, click onEnter into emifsud’s guest room and shows you this dialog window:
The user connected toZoho has this chat window:
We now see the option ofGroups what is the next button. In principle we do not have any group available. Let's create one. Click onClick here and it takes us to the account page ofZoho.

We enter the group data: Name, members added to it, idiom, etc and we create it. We already have our working group calledzoho-ITE.

The last button available is the one for contacts. We can add some.

We are now going to briefly review the tabs that appear in the top bar ofZoho Writer.
The first one isFormat:

Selecting the tab changes all the options available and visible in the immediate lower bar. In this case it contains the typical options of a word processor.

The eyelashInsert shows:

In this case the options are to insert images, links, boards, comments, emoticons, etc.

The eyelashRevision shows:
The options included are spell checking, selection of the dictionary to apply, search and replace, etc.
The tabCooperate we have already commented on it previously. Just say that the file that is being edited can be sent by email to the contact of ours that we select and in the format that we choose from all those available.
Also comment on this tab the option ofTo post the document allows other online users to access the document.

Document publication can also be doneinsertandolo as a blog post:
EyelashesViews yPage Settings They have the usual options that we are not going to comment on.
Finally we go to thePost. This tab allows you to select a filecvs1 select fields above it and send an email. In short, it is another way to publish the document.

4.2 File menu option

From this menu we can create a new file, open one that we have already created and have in our cloud repository, or import it from different locations both local and web:

There is also the possibility of importing a specific file from GoogleDocs. In this case we are asked for authentication to enter our Google accountDocs:

By pressing onGoogle Authentication shows us the request for us to grant gadgets.zoho.com access to our documents on GoogleDocs.

We can deny this accessbut late from 'My account'.

We already have our Google documents availabledocs and we can select the one we need and then import it toZoho and work on it.
Once we have worked on the document we can save it. The next time we want to work on it, it will appear as a document open inZoho (Archive > Opened).
Another option on the File menu is Export, which offers a very wide range of available formats.:
The rest of the menu options are the usual ones and we are not going to comment.
